The controversial extradition bill is the main motive driving Hong Kong protesters.
Hong Kong administrators claim that Hong Kong courts will have the last say in whether to grant such extradition requests and that suspects of religious and political crimes will not be extradited.
However, majority of the public in Hong Kong worry that Beijing may over-ride these promises, and they also have apprehensions about the fairmindedness of Chinas legal system. According to a study of nearly 1, 050 residents conducted from May 23 to June 5, majority strongly disagreed that extradited people would receive fair trials in Chinese courts and such totally opposed this bill.
